Are you friendly, reliable and passionate about delivering excellent customer service? Join our Retail Team and help create a welcoming shopping experience for students, staff and visitors across our Union Shop outlets.

As a Retail Assistant, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our stores, including serving customers, operating tills, replenishing stock, merchandising displays, receiving deliveries and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation. You may also assist with basic food preparation, including simple cooking tasks such as preparing food from frozen, while ensuring all food hygiene and safety standards are maintained.

We're looking for enthusiastic team players with great interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Previous retail, cash handling or EPOS till experience is desirable but not essential.

Applicants must be a current Nottingham Trent University student for the 2026/27 academic year and be aged 18 or over.

This role is primarily based at the NTSU SPAR Shop, although there may be occasions where you will be required to work at our City and Brackenhurst campus outlets to support operational requirements.

This is a position of trust. Successful applicants must be dependable, honest and capable of working independently, including at times when no permanent member of staff is on site. You will be trusted to follow procedures, handle cash and stock responsibly, make sound decisions and always represent NTSU professionally.

This is a zero-hours position with flexible shifts available during term time to meet the needs of the business.
