Social Media Assistant (Student Staff)
Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) is looking for a creative and motivated NTU student to join our Marketing, Communications & Digital team as a Social Media Assistant.
In this flexible role, you’ll help bring NTSU and Trent Events’ Instagram and TikTok channels to life — capturing the best of student life, from our biggest events to everyday moments on campus. You’ll create engaging short-form video content, attend events to capture live coverage, and contribute fresh ideas to help us connect with NTU’s diverse student community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and editing engaging video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Stories, based on briefs from the Marketing & Communications team
- Attending NTSU events and activities to capture footage and create live or post-event content
- Documenting student life on campus and in the city, packaging this into creative short-form videos
- Contributing new ideas in team meetings to stay on top of current trends and boost engagement
- Ensuring all content is inclusive, representative, and reflects NTSU’s brand guidelines and tone of voice
- Supporting NTSU’s sustainability commitments by highlighting green initiatives and considering environmental impact when planning and producing content
What we’re looking for:
- Experience creating and editing video content (CapCut skills desirable)
- A good eye for photography and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence to appear on camera when needed
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced projects
- Knowledge of current social media trends and digital marketing tools

£12.21 per hour
