Social Media Assistant (Student Staff)

Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) is looking for a creative and motivated NTU student to join our Marketing, Communications & Digital team as a Social Media Assistant.

In this flexible role, you’ll help bring NTSU and Trent Events’ Instagram and TikTok channels to life — capturing the best of student life, from our biggest events to everyday moments on campus. You’ll create engaging short-form video content, attend events to capture live coverage, and contribute fresh ideas to help us connect with NTU’s diverse student community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating and editing engaging video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Stories, based on briefs from the Marketing & Communications team
• Attending NTSU events and activities to capture footage and create live or post-event content
• Documenting student life on campus and in the city, packaging this into creative short-form videos
• Contributing new ideas in team meetings to stay on top of current trends and boost engagement
• Ensuring all content is inclusive, representative, and reflects NTSU’s brand guidelines and tone of voice
• Supporting NTSU’s sustainability commitments by highlighting green initiatives and considering environmental impact when planning and producing content

What we’re looking for:

• Experience creating and editing video content (CapCut skills desirable)
• A good eye for photography and strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence to appear on camera when needed
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced projects
• Knowledge of current social media trends and digital marketing tools

Pay: £12.21 per hour
